The University Cash suite of secure applications requires users to provide contact information (like their name and email address), unique identifiers (like their group or supporter ID), financial information (like their account or credit card numbers), and demographic information (like their zip code). We use customer contact information to send the user information about our company and promotional material from some of our merchant partners. University Cash offers an opt-out option to users who do not wish to receive such messages. On rare occasion, it is necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance we might send you an email. However, these announcements will not be promotional in nature. Financial information that is collected is used to check the users' qualifications for registration with the program. Unique identifiers (such as group or supporter ID) are collected to verify the user's identity and for use as account numbers in our record system. Demographic and profile data is also collected at our site. We use this data to tailor the visitor's experience at our site, showing them content that we think they might be interested in, and displaying the content according to their preferences.
University Cash may also collect information about your computer hardware and software. This information can include your IP (Internet Protocol) address, browser type, ISP (Internet Service Provider), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and # of clicks, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. University Cash uses this information to administer the UniversityCash.com site, to detect problems with our servers, maintain the quality of the University Cash Program and to track traffic patterns on the UniversityCash.com site. We will not track nor analyze data according to domain names or MIME information.
University Cash does not sell, lease or rent any personally identifiable information provided by you to any third parties. However, UniversityCash may: (1) disclose your personally identifiable information to third parties that are directly involved in providing the University Cash Program, in which case, such third parties shall be prohibited from using your personally identifiable information except to the extent necessary to provide the University Cash Program to you and shall be required to maintain the confidentiality of your information; and (2) University Cash shall provide participating schools and youth organizations with the names of those individuals that have designated the school or youth organization as the recipient of rebates in connection with the University Cash Program.
University Cash may disclose your personally identifiable information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on University Cash; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of University Cash: or (c) protect and defend the personal safety of users of the UniversityCash.com site.
